"Oh yeah guys. We bombed a place so we could kill some people, but we accidentally killed some other people... again. Total mistake, we thought we learned the first 100 or so aid workers, but nothing could possibly have been done to avoid their mistake. Really though they were probably Palestinians in disguise, maybe" - Netanyahu probably

"Oops sorry! We thought they were just Palestinians"

— Israel

Everybody in that general area is fair game.

Edit: It seems necessary to clarify that this is not my personal opinion, but evidently the opinion of the IDF and the Israeli government.

[-] athos77@kbin.social 57 points 5 months ago

The only reason they're apologizing is because some of them were foreign nationals. If they'd all been Palestinians, Israel would be talking about the Hamas terrorist cell they'd destroyed.

[-] lennybird@lemmy.world 18 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Surprised Israel has yet to claim there was a "Top Hamas official" and tunnel underneath the aid vehicle.

Remember, these are the geniuses who killed their own hostages with literal white flags raised and entirely unarmed.

[-] undeffeined@lemmy.ml 5 points 5 months ago

Yes but do you condemn Hamas?

/s

[-] snek@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

I'm surprised that they didn't claim that their Palestinian driver was just KHAMAS.

[-] AlwaysNowNeverNotMe@kbin.social 56 points 5 months ago

Oops unintentionally killed more journalists than all of WW2.

[-] Keeponstalin@lemmy.world 32 points 5 months ago

About five times as many, of course it's much lower to people who consider Palestinians subhuman animals

[-] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 45 points 5 months ago

They bombed them three times so the word "unintentional" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here

[-] snek@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago

If I understand correctly, they accidentally shot at three vehicles all marked with WCK?

Lol at least they didn't deny being there like they did with Hind Rajab even though we have footage of their tanks in that area during rhat incident

Haaretz article

At some point, when the convoy was driving along the approved route, the war room of the unit responsible for security of the route ordered the drone operators to attack one of the cars with a missile.

Some of the passengers were seen leaving the car after it was hit and switching to one of the other two cars. They continued to drive and even notified the people responsible that they were attacked, but, seconds later, another missile hit their car.

The third car in the convoy approached, and the passengers began to transfer to it the wounded who had survived the second strike – in order to get them out of danger. But then a third missile struck them. All seven World Central Kitchen volunteers were killed in the strike.

So it's basically like a week ago when the IDF bombed those four guys walking on the sand road and kept bombing the guys limping away. The IDF were notified about these World Food Kitchen envoys in advance and decided to blow them up midway because they started hallucinating Hamas warriors in the car.

hallucinating Hamas warriors in the car

Don't make it that easy. Don't lump this in with other stuff. They knew exactly what those great people were doing there and why. They're intentionally starving Gaza, and they'll murder the most giving and charitable westerners to accomplish their genocide.

The US has many legitimate reasons to support Israel. This should be the line where we put a stop to it.

[-] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

They knew that about those other people as well. This is no different from all the other times israel has massacred civilians and aid workers. The only difference is optically because it's so impossibly obvious that israel is intentionally targeting civilians this time that even israel can't lie about it. Every possible form of plausible deniability has been destroyed.

The US has many legitimate reasons to support Israel.

Going to disagree with that one.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 36 points 5 months ago

Unintentional my ass. They were coordinating with them. They knew exactly what the convoy was and where it was.

[-] LaserTurboShark69@sh.itjust.works 35 points 5 months ago

Whoopsie doodle just murdered seven people

[-] ivanafterall@kbin.social 9 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

If I had a nickel.

[-] jonne@infosec.pub 4 points 5 months ago

What's 7 more out of 50000+?

[-] doublejay1999@lemmy.world 32 points 5 months ago

This shit needs to stop.

Inaction is complicity

[-] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 28 points 5 months ago

Notice they stopped delivering food?

That was the intent all along.

[-] marathon@lemmy.ca -3 points 5 months ago

Yup and the world only cares because they happened to white skinned rather than brown!

[-] Serinus@lemmy.world 22 points 5 months ago

José Andrés and World Central Kitchen has done great work, and they were some great people. Gaza was the worst place they've been, but their biggest issue is literally starving, so I understand why they took the risk.

Oops I did it again

[-] febra@lemmy.world 14 points 5 months ago

Didn't they also claim that all of their strikes are calculated and extremely accurate? So which is it now?

[-] assassin_aragorn@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago

Bullshit. This has the effect of reducing aid to Gaza. It's is unintentional, it shows that Israel is incredibly incompetent in considering the consequences of their actions... Which I suppose does check out.

[-] bufalo1973@lemmy.ml 10 points 5 months ago

And he wants the rest of the world to swallow that.

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

How many "unintentional" killings is this now?

After a certain point people stop "falling" out of windows.

[-] Burn_The_Right@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

Bibi is a conservative. As such, every word he utters is deception or manipulation. Every word.

[-] filister@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

I keep wondering how many of those "unintentional" strikes did Israel do already. How many civilian lives have been taken in this war so far?

[-] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 months ago

The hole in the vehicle doesn't look super accidental.

[-] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 months ago

Psyop to distract from the other news, which is the completely ruined out al-Shifa hospital.

Western news will mostly just focus on this incident.

[-] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Western talking heads will call al-Shifa a "terrorist headquarters" and send millions more in bombs to Israel for fear of offending AIPAC

[-] mycathas9lives@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

That's a lying killer

[-] marathon@lemmy.ca -2 points 5 months ago

3 separate strikes over a mile isn't a mistake. Israel is an apartheid fascist state, let's not fool ourselves otherwise. People need to learn what Zionism actually is.
