But why does the working class want the far right?

[-] weeahnn@lemmy.world 36 points 2 months ago

IMO it's largely a consequence of the center-left and center-right (Hollande, Macron) completely abandoning the working class, and demonizing the left whilst cozying up to the far-right (mostly Macron, though Hollande definitely slid right over his term).

A tale as old as time.

Don't forget that the media's main goal is profit. How can they make sure to make more and more profit? By constantly showing you stuff that keeps you in fear and in turn makes you want to know everything that's happening. The only way to know the current events? Watch our media segments, read our newspaper, read our website etc. (also see 24/7 news cycle)

Good lord, all those calories. Still worth it though.

What? You mean to tell me that he is not called Sir Prime Minister Mr. Keir Rodney Starmer? Unbelievable.

That's also what I use. So far it's been pretty good. The only thing is that if you don't use a capsule and don't blend it into food, it's gonna tase disgusting.

But also yes. You should eat more fruits and veggies.

It's time for an even more progressive EU, that is not afraid of autocrats.

This will only stop once the DLCs start rolling out in earnest. (Or probably not, it's PDX)

Its kinda crazy how badly CS2 got messed up.

He wears the common man's clothes.

Well, I'll wait with it for now. Not too long ago, I installed Ubuntu on my spare laptop, but I don't really use it that often. And before I do switch, I'll probably go through everything I use and see what the Linux alternative is, unless of course it already works on it.

Piranha Bytes’ upcoming science fantasy-themed action role-playing game, Elex 3, may have been canceled, and the studio possibly closed down.

Absolute shite news tbh, even if I wasn't a fan of anything after Risen 1 it still sucks to see them go.

YouTube announced two new experimental generative AI features today. Premium subscribers can soon try AI-generated comment summaries organized by topic, and a chatbot that answers questions about videos.

At this point why would you watch the video when you can have a shitty AI summary of the whole thing. Great idea.

Early access comes out on 26 April 2024.

I'm excited to see how the game plays, and how much it has changed since the last free-play event was held.

Hey there everyone! I have a possibly noobish question about the number of active users.

I've been watching the stats on occasion and lately, I've noticed that Lemmy's number of active users has been decreasing. (for the last month at least).

While the number has been on an upward trend for the last 6 months

Last month's stats have been less than rosy.

So could anyone explain how this might affect Lemmy? I think I've read before that only people who post or comment count as active users, but seeing it go down is kinda alarming. So am I right in thinking that Lemmy has been losing active users since July 11 or am I missing something?
