And Obama bagged on Romney for it.

“The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back.”

Knowing nothing about marketing, I figured that after threatening to sue his advertisers there would have been a full-stop on incoming customers and, at the least, a spending level freeze by existing customers.

Just because a product went defunct does not mean the entire code base is obsolete to the company.

Suppose I release software that makes a profit for a while, then falls off and starts costing me money, obviously time to retire that thing. However, a ton of code in that original product was a stepping stone for newer projects. I now have two choices.

A) Drop support and give world+dog my code, giving everyone a look into my existing products.

B) Keep losing money on the old project and make up for it by overcharging for my latest work.

That's a lose-lose proposition.

Your self-hosting solution sounds mighty fair!

My neighbor at camp handed me his silenced .22 loaded with subsonic ammo. All I could hear was the action moving back and forth. So clear, I realized I had heard that exact sound because I have the same gun in a different form!

OTOH, it's impossible to get a significantly silent supersonic round down to "quiet", not even close. And none y'all better steal my new band name!

Shame most Americans take the term "silencer" literally. We'll never see sane legislation. Meanwhile, in Europe, I'm told some ranges mandate suppressors, and at best, you're considered a douche canoe blasting away without one.

Going to bite the bullet (heh) and get one on my AR when I can afford (and have time to figure out the tiresome paperwork and fees). The noise is stunning and I'd like to be more considerate of my country neighbors.

Can I get a tl;dr? Revenue is meaningless without subtracting costs.

I'd be down for copyright extending 10-years past the creator's death, 20 at most. This is plenty of time to resolve complex legal affairs, fighting relatives, etc.

Spectral! Unique plot, as far as I know. Never seen anything quite like it, probably watched it 10-times by now.

"Impossible sir. My doobage is in Johnson's underwear."

Love that word.

Never questioned it, but that's one hell of a long statement. Can anyone string that many sentences together, and so clearly?

I was devouring On Writing yesterday and I could see Stephen King blasting that as bad dialog. Bad as in, unbelievable in a work of fiction.

Filipinos!? Are you sure about that? My wife is from these and is horrified at the mere suggestion of it. She doesn't talk shit about people doing it, but having it around is a hard NO for her. She's even leery about me getting mack on medical.

Speaking broadly, Asians have a hard line stance against drugs, figured that was her thing. Maybe she's just worried about being an immigrant on the wrong side of the law?

And yes, they're the Mexicans of Asia.

Wore hard contacts back when those were a thing. Trained myself to look straight down when I drop something. No pause, don't look for the thing, look straight down immediately, catch it on the bounce.

Caveat: This does not work when a spring pops on your project. Place a flashlight flat on the floor and scan. My gunsmith has a sweet trick for springs. Take it apart inside a bag.
