Being a human rights activist in China that highlights Chinese wrongdoings takes some enormous fucking balls.
That sudo might save the poor victims ass if they're awake enough to wonder "why does it ask for password when I'm just doing ls?"
Otherwise it's a good lesson in always having backups / easy way to reproduce your setup.
In my opinion LotR should've already entered the public domain but thanks to Disney well have to wait until 2044 for that.
It died because to make games fit on discs/media they need to be compact making it very hard to ship a limited version without shipping all content. Back in the days generally all the "try before you buy" games shipped the full content leading to cracks that simply unlocked it.
Today a company that doesn't have a hard-on for DRM could of course run with the model and just chalk up piracy to advertisment and people that wouldn't buy the game anyway. Kinda like any company selling on GOG.
Of course those are the minority, most companies want / need DRM in some form and the model just works against it. It might be possible to make it work with something like Denuvo but I doubt anyone would be happy about that.
Then downvote and move on. No need to make people that actually post content feel unwelcome and unappreciated. That just leads to no content and thus no reason to even use Lemmy / the Fediverse.
Yeah, I know, which is why I fully understand chosing this guy over literally their prior finance minister. It's pretty much "change nothing and hope it improves" vs "blow it all up and hope his ideas work half as well as he thinks they will".
Results that 'good' just can't be planned, and if he tried to remake them with the intent of looking like poop he couldn't ever get them this 'good' again. Legendary stuff. Should take them to some kids and blow their minds.
This feels like it's going to end up as Anarcho-Capitalisms Cuba. Touted as proof that it works by supporters and as proof it doesn't work by detractors. I hope the Argentinian people come out of this ahead, or at the very least not even worse off.
Key difference: The Nazis were on the offensive.
The only risk of "losing" I foresee for Ukraine is not being able to reclaim all territory lost without sustaining losses they aren't willing to. There is in my view zero chance Russia takes Kyiv, well without nukes or chemical warfare etc but I doubt they'd go that far. As it is right now it's looking like this could be a long war, 10+ years of very little movement of the frontlines.
You got me covered at least!
Love it!
Excellent stuff! Been looking for something like this and while I love greasemonkey it's a bit fiddly on Android so this is a great, much simpler, alternative!
