Thanks for the warning but he doesn’t mod the subreddit this discussion was in. I replied with an alt because he blocked me so I couldn’t see his messages anymore.

Impossible to prove or disprove, but grad ML and Hexbear follow the exact leftist ideologies these agencies try to push.

They also push extreme right ideologies too, anything that destabilises and improves relationship with russia china is good for them.

Things like the internet research agency (russian keyboard army propaganda organisation ) and chinese equivalents are far more widespread than most imagine

I would agree but unsure because there are the intricacies of orbit cycles and timings and the 3d plane of space

Yep. I’m very confused though because the tolerance towards tankies makes me think the mods are further “left” (authoritarian left) then the userbase, but then the MBFC bot makes me think the opposite.

Reading through all that, I’d have to say I’m on your side, as I don’t really see evidence of “stalking”.

I reported an account for stalking once on politicalmemes that got permabanned, but thats because in the three minutes after I replied to them, they went out of their way to comment insults on random posts of mine from MONTHS ago.

The same memes over and over “both sides are bad don’t vote” usually decently downvoted but still appears in my feed just the same are really annoying on c/politicalmemes, so I really get where you’re coming from.

I have to note its a funny coincidence that I couldn’t find your original thread as turns out the account you are arguing had been previously blocked by me.

would be interested to hear you elaborate on this.

There are one or two million eligible US voters on reddit by estimate. A decent chunk of those are progressive left. People like u/leninmeowmeow have been increasingly taking over left wing subreddits, and pushing pro-russia and “don’t vote both sides bad” propaganda, which does impact US voters.

I had a health emergency in June 2023 and was pretty much unable to use reddit until April 2024. Going back, the same subreddits felt like a different world. A bunch of subreddits I frequented, that had been social democrat and pro-ukraine, became subtly pro-russia. This is the reason I left reddit for lemmy. I felt like my political ideology (idealistically I’m an anarcho-marxist, but I still vote for the better candidate to shift the overton window, and I’m critical of Chinese and Russian imperialism, and really all the authoritarian “communist” regimes) had no place on reddit anymore.

u/LeninMeowMeow moderates a large amount of big subreddits, r/therightcantmeme, r/gamingcirclejerk, r/animememes, r/greenandpleasent (a known russian propaganda subreddit source: Center for European Policy Analysis (think Lemmygrad)) and much more.

Anyways on r/lemmy, he says that lemmy.world is right-wing and thatcherite. I reply that it is more social democratic.

I instantly get banned from the subreddits he moderates and blocked by him. I have not commented or participated in any of their subreddits before, and this is my first ever encounter with them.

Weird and concerning behaviour. I fear that tankies are taking over most left wing spaces on reddit (not that I really use reddit for politics anymore, that’s why I’m on lemmy, but for the implications to our democracies, as a non-negligible chunk of voters are politically influenced by reddit).

Polling wise VP’s have historically changed very little in elections.

Hiya, so I follow a couple hundred lemmy communities and want to change accounts (to a different instance). Is there a way to make my new account follow all those communities without having to manually refollow? cheers.

Threat level: NATO has also found that its adversaries, chiefly Russia, are spreading climate and energy-transition-related disinformation in order to undermine political will for climate action.

  • It cites an uptick in Russian disinformation tied to the European green energy transition on social media and on online news sites. Russia, a major producer of oil and gas, has an interest in slowing the transition to renewable energy sources.
  • Disaster-related disinformation is another emerging trend, which seeks to impair NATO members' ability to respond effectively. This was observed, for example, in association with the deadly fire in Lahaina, Maui, in August of last year, the report states.
  • Russia, for example, sought to benefit from that by spreading the narrative that the U.S. should be aiding its own citizens in Hawai'i instead of Ukraine, the report notes.

What they're saying: "Russia and other NATO adversaries use climate disinformation to sow division, delay action, and cynically undermine the public understanding of climate change in ways that put people in harm's way during climate-exacerbated disasters," Kate Cell, a senior climate campaign manager at the Union of Concerned Scientists, told Axios.

Drunken driver who snapped photo going 141 mph before deadly collision imprisoned for 17 years

Darryl Anderson was drunk behind the wheel of his Audi SUV, had his accelerator pressed to the floor and was barreling toward a car ahead of him when he snapped a photo of his speedometer. The picture showed a car in the foreground, a collision warning light on his dashboard and a speed of 141 mph (227 kph).

An instant later, he slammed into the car in the photo. The driver, Shalorna Warner, was not seriously injured but her 8-month-old son and her sister were killed instantly, authorities said. Evidence showed Anderson never braked.

Anderson, 38, was sentenced Tuesday to 17 years in prison for the May 31 crash in northern England that killed little Zackary Blades and Karlene Warner. Anderson pleaded guilty last week in Durham Crown Court to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

Edinburgh reports positive effects of its 'pavement parking ban' (urban-mobility-observatory.transport.ec.europa.eu)

The original article with all the trackers and Cloudflare is here :-)

Edinburgh's banned pavement parking scheme commenced at the end of January 2024, issuing fines of £100 for vehicles not complying. In total, 2,313 tickets have been issued to offenders in the first three months up until the end of April.

However, the City Council are seeing the ban as a success case - the number of tickets issued per month has dropped from 925 tickets in March to 644 tickets in April. Complaints on pavement parking, double parking and parking at dropped crossings have also almost halved, from a peak of 1,316 in February to 687 in April.

The pavement parking ban was introduced to keep pavements free of obstacles, mainly for people with reduced mobility, such as wheelchair users, or people with buggies or prams. Prior to the start of the ban, 556 "red" streets were marked by the council as having problems with pavement parking. After the first three months of enforcing the ban, this figure was down to just 7 streets. These streets continue to see problems such as cars parking on the road, leaving too little space for bin lorries to pass by. Edinburgh Council is considering measures such as yellow lines on the pavement to safeguard sufficient space for bin lorries and emergency vehicles to pass by parked cars.

Councillor Scott Arthur, Convener of the Transport and Environment Committee, stated: “The number of complaints is starting to fall because compliance is quite high. Things are starting to normalise. I'm proud of how the council officers have implemented this ban, but even prouder of how the public in Edinburgh have responded to it. It really has been transformative in a lot of areas, making it a safer and more equal city.”
