Not sure which you are referring to, but they've both been around as creators on YouTube forever. They are both still actively making content. I'm not sure what memes you're seeing, but maybe you're just coming across communities with people that grew up watching this stuff more now. AVGN started in 2004 and Nostalgia Critic in 2007 so there's a long history out there.

Content can be a little sparse at times. I'd rather be light on content rather than all the posts from archival bots archiving reddit posts. That's stuff is annoying and no one ever comments in those.

I keep a basic log in a notebook. I just log all each game as I complete it. Organized by year I completed it. I started as a way to help me make sure I was doing hobbies I enjoyed.
