PCs are expensive and unpractical.

I wanted a PC, bought a tablet. Ideally, I'd want a SFFPC plus screens that I could easily move. I'd settle for a SFFPC with a dedicated graphics card if I couldn't move it. I'd also settle for a notebook that would allow me to easily swap HDDs/SSDs. However, none of those things are possible and/or have a good cost-benefit, so I got a tablet.

Notebooks are too clunky compared to tablets because they are attached to a keyboard and to a screen. If those parts were removable, they would be more successful. Tablets would also be more popular if you could use them as PC screens (some from Lenovo already come with this featur).

Manufacturers are moving in the opposite direction, soldering memory, and making as hard as possible to change parts.

People give too little credit to how much crimes the police stops simply through self control.

100%

But each practice involves different levels of risk. Kissing random strangers has a different level of risk from having anal sex with them, and a different level of risk from having oral sex, piss play, etc. Some stuff seems obvious, other stuff isn't as intuitive. And for people who engage in risk behavior, knowing how risky it is makes all the difference in the world. Knowing that having anal sex with an escorts is way riskier than having vaginal sex with her makes all the difference in the world.

So...

I've always been quiet and never had much sex. That has changed. I'm in the kind of phase that people look at me and say: "You were so nice! What went wrong!?" And now I'll have sex with men, women, ~~hookers~~ escorts, ~~removeds~~ not fully transitioned MtoF transsexuals, robots, I'll probably engage in BDSM, piss play, breath play, and other exotic activities. I won't engange in drugs/chemsex that's where I draw the line.

Thus, the advice I've always been given and followed looks a little inadequate. Somehow saying to just use condoms, pills and IUD looks like insufficient knowledge to the kind of behavior I'll engage in.

Therefore I need to up my game into sex ed and STIs knowledge and prevention. I've been looking inton PrEP, but I really need to read more about diseases and prevention to protect myself and be able to treat myself if I catch something.

Any suggestion of videos, books, and other learning resources that goes beyond the "just use a condom and have a single partner?"

I agree, I like Proton services.

However, offfering a free service is not a favour, it's a business decision and you should always do what's best for you. Let rich people pay for the expensive stuff.

I'm not a charity institution. I use whatever is better/more cost-effective for my needs.

I will, however, point out that the ability to migrate and/or downgrade (from paid to free for example) is something in which I place A LOT of value. I will use stuff that is substantially worse than the market leader simply because it allows me to take my shit and leave if I ever change my mind. Being able to move from a paid to a free plan when you are no longer using something is pretty important.

Regarding your example, Proton VPN is on the higher end of VPNs. I consider it pricy, but they are trying to compete with OVPN. Paying because you need to support is an emotional decision. If you ever get enough money that you don't care about paying another $5 to get a better service, go with them. Else, choose something paid but cheaper.

No. It's something else. I can guarantee it.

I only use Lemmy because RIF stopped working.

I'm not an activist and do not tend to act when my bubble isn't affected. When I heard all the commotion I thought "damn! I liked RIF. Welp, let's download the new Reddit app. C'est lá vie."

I proceeded to download it and... IT ASKED ME FOR LOGIN CREDENTIALS 🤡!!!!!!

On that moment I gave up. One of my favorite things about Reddit was the pseudonym aspect of the site. I could see a post about some topic, create an specific pseudonym just to reply that post and preserve my identity and my main online aliases. I'm not against demanding information for accounts that post on the site and even taking measures to limit the number of aliases a single person can have. But demand login to lurk!? Fuck that! Complete greed. Absolutely barbaric!

Hello.

I'm very interesting in your ideas.

Do you think you could e-mail me to discuss what you are planning in more details?

My e-mail is john.cena@fbi.gov

Thanks.

It takes several months to heal. During those months, you can't take them off or else the hole heals and disappears.

Thinking about having my nipples pierced. However, my main source of doubt is that it would be very visible when using a T-shirt...

Thoughts?

It seems that everything turned into scams, aggressive self marketing and just click bait irrelevant content. I liked finance videos, but every creator sounds like "the world will end soon" or "my secret method to make 1 million per week day trading stocks/forex/crypto."

Content aimed at culture (movies/series) also behave the same way, throwing a bit of politics into the mix. Always the same incendiary click bait title spewing a bunch of nonsense that has nothing the story, setting characters or other topics relevant to the piece.

Is there anything that can be saved on that platform? It has gotten so bad that I'm start to think that Tiktok and Twitter both have better content than YouTube. At least in those platforms you can find a random dude writing an essay in a series of 20 tweets on why an increase of mantis is related to the global surge of ballpoint pen prices.

I feel like it will be bad because authors won't have freedom to make things their way.

Should I spend my time reading it or look for a long series of a single author?
