I'm curious, where's the crossover between duchess potato and falafel? Totally different recipes and methods

You are right and Iam sorry. I mixed up not only the recipes but also the name for the potato dish. There is a potato dish where you basically form balls and fry them and i misremembered the Name.

So yeah its basically chickpeas and potato mashed and formed to Balls before air frying, in oil would probably give more taste, but i try to be more healty so no frying for me.

No need to apologise, we all have brain farts sometimes. And akshully, duchess potatoes are baked and so are your balls, so there's a crossover after all. It's all looking great!
