Ah, I meant which country was it taken in - I'm from the UK, and I don't recognise the bird: most like one of our moorhens I supoose.

Ah I misunderstood. This photo was taken in Singapore, most of the pictures I have are from Asia and Australia.

White-breasted waterhens are found in South and Southeast Asia. They're part of the rail family, like moorhens as you mentioned. I agree this is a really interesting/exotic looking bird. Its long legs and overall proportions aren't like any birds I've seen in Canada
