Italian chocolate lovers just couldn’t catch a break it seems, as the country once again found itself in crisis in the wake of World War II. But the Italians were industrious and went back to their old ways of stretching their limited chocolate supply.

This time, however, a pastry maker named Pietro Ferrer would take gianduia to the next level. He created a new recipe using hazelnuts, sugar, and the tiny bit of cocoa he could get his hands on. The result was a thick, sweet loaf that he dubbed Giandujot. The Ferrero Company was founded in 1946, and Giandujot was its first product (source)

If you’re having trouble imagining a version of Nutella that had to be cut with a knife, then don’t worry; it never really caught on. However, this failure did not stop Ferrero from trying again. He hit the drawing board and did 1951 he came up with a spreadable version. He called it Supercrema, and although its name was gimmicky, its taste was not.

Renamed Nutella in 1964.

Fun fact: Nutella was originally made to give you the taste of chocolate during WW2 rationing.

Afaik the antenna is picking up the background waves/radiation and the TV is displaying that background waves/radiation. If you disconnect the antenna, the TV will have no signal to display, it'll be as blank as it can get.

I wish I followed this advice earlier. The way I've heard it was: "When someone tells you who they are, believe them."

You create an outgroup, portray them as subhuman, whip people into a frenzy with propaganda, and you're there.

People are also emotional, you tap into that. Anger and hate are easy emotions.

That's what I call round to the nearest 10 degrees. High/low of tens unit if you realllllly want to be pedantic. But at this point I think you're trying to be really pedantic to win fahrenheit.

Because the point is: I find it funny when people say Fahrenheit is so much more accurate when they round to the nearest high/low of the tens unit, but then think Celsius has to be given in decimal lol.

Dude you just did it, "low 60s".

I see it even on weather forecasts "We're going to get into the high 70s" which I think is what you didn't want to say, so you now specified 78.

And it's still a completely floating, arbitrary scale.
