A couple optimistic points:

• within Victoria, the southernmost and most populous point of the line, the E&N lines still exist and the access space has been turned into an bike lane.

• People still want this train back, it has definitely not been forgotten. Spoiler, a long & narrow island lends itself well to rail transport
