hard to ban a spam attack without also stopping any new sign ups. Also high risk, because the moment some scumbag uploads an image like that, it's hosted on their server and they are legally at risk.

I think him opting out of dementia, does not mean he didn't think life was worth living. He didn't seem depressed, just didn't want to put himself and his family through dementia.

Definitely less infinite scrolling, which has probably been good for me time management wise.

But yeah, just generally less content and posts. Also find myself ending up on reddit when doing internet searches for questions.

There has been value generated by Twitter that will outlive it though.

They established and refined an interface that other ventures like blue sky and mastodon are utilizing, and they delivered open source frameworks like Bootstrap will long outlive Twitter, and have brought value to the broader web development ecosystem.

The nice thing about our economic system is that value is rarely completely destroyed, the money he paid for Twitter didn't cease to exist, it went to former Twitter shareholders.

They may be using it in more productive ways than he ever would.
