For me, it's Grim Dawn, honestly. (And Diablo before that) 10 classes to choose 2 from means a lot of new skills and builds. Tons of random loot, but also recipes to make and collect.

I mostly play with mods now. Grim Internals, full rainbow, some rep and exp gain ones, and the Item Assistant. I play solo, and have enjoyed every hour of it!

PAX - before there was PAX Prime or PAX East.

This is what my family (and a few friends) use. We have been using it for a while now because it just works. Also, the kids have never complained about using Conversations, or about using it only for us (like if you have that one family member who won't leave SMS behind - we're that guy, I guess), and we can make as many channels as we need for the house, the kids, with each kid individually, for our MTG cards, with our couple of friends that use it, etc…

I don't personally do the hosting, so I can't speak to that. That's the hubby's thing

The thing that gets me a lot of the time is falling up. I would trip while running or riding a bike, and lose contact with the ground. Soon I'm beyond any trees that I could grab, and just falling. Up. Until it wakes me up.

I've had nightmares about it since I was a kid (I don't know when "old" starts, but I'm probably closer to that than to being a kid. Well, in age - I'm still pretty immature 😅)

I have had quite a few nightmares about not being able to find my kids during zombie apocalypses.
Same basic thing tho: the scariest part wasn't the setting or scenario, it was not being able to save my kids from harm.

I read that ghost was federating, I think.

You're not wrong! That is behavior that should be addressed - much moreso at food-related businesses than like, the hardware store, but is just good-human behavior when you interact with others. (Not everyone does that tho)

And if it is repeatedly happening at one place, it might just be someone working there who isn't doing the right thing. (Or the soap there is potent and not in a way that you like.) If it seems like it's happening everywhere, it could be more of a sensitive sniffer thing... Which isn't really a Big Deal, it just is. Like the reason we are expected to wear less cologne/perfume in some spaces, to account for others' sensitivity or allergy. As a courtesy

[-] mom@nom.mom 5 points 3 months ago

But not everyone sticks to that! (Also why the OP suggested that it means they haven't done it)

It requires a human to do a thing. It doesn't happen automatically.

The options I'm aware of are A) that spot to block/filter instances in Sync (which you've already done), or B) going to the web interface with a browser, going to your settings page there, and there's the tab for Blocks. That page has ways to block a person, community, or (at the very bottom of that) instance.

I can't help you with getting the filter to stick, but at least there's another way (which should end up being client agnostic)

I think that - if you want to read current Marvel story arcs, but not buy every tie-in story (from characters you don't really like or care about, for example) - digital comics are how you'll want to go.

There are lots of ways to get free digital comics, and as the other reply said, use a search engine or wiki to find the reading order and all the tie-ins. That's just the way Marvel does things, and I'm pretty sure DC does it the same way - that's how the story stays cohesive, and how more sales are made. Your friend is absolutely right.

If you're going to a local comic book store, try asking the employees - not everyone cares, or pays attention, but sometimes you'll find a passionate employee (or owner) who can help you find the tpbs involved in the storylines.

When the first flavors of Pop-Tarts were released in 1964 (strawberry, blueberry, apple currant, and brown sugar cinnamon), the packaging machines were expensive, resulting in hefty up-front costs. So, to be economical about their investments, the company decided to package the product in twos at the start (explained in the book "Better Than Homemade: Amazing Foods that Changed the Way We Eat" by Carolyn Wyman).

“To package them singly would have required twice as many machines. Kellogg’s didn’t want to invest in a lot of machines until they knew how it would sell," said Bill Post, who managed the first plant to produce Pop-Tarts.

Not a new thing at all

I don't think it's a Sync only thing. I get that you can see them in the browser, but since I started using Lemmy last year I have noticed the occasional number of comments not matching the visible comments - not just in Sync, tho. It's happened to me while using the pwa and with other apps.

If you want to switch clients, go ahead and try them out - there are a lot of choices these days. I think LW has a variety of frontend options, too. Maybe one of those will be a good fit?
(I dunno, I really like Sync, but I've also installed and used just about every Android Lemmy app, and just end up coming back to Sync each time. Don't get me wrong - there are some that are really good, but Sync is still my top pick.)

Just tried again today, even though I wasn't expecting any different results from the last few Imagine my surprise! I'm pretty sure nothing happened on my end (Sync settings or instance).

Bug description

Have tried changing views in my inbox, and app has crashed each time.

Scenario

  1. Go to inbox (mine defaults to All Mentions)(From FAB)
  2. Change to All Messages (Also happens when switching to Unread/All Replies)

Result(s)

App crashes, every time I switch from All Mentions

Device information

Sync version: v23.09.13-09:43
Sync flavor: googlePlay

View type: Compact

Device: bluejay
Model: Google Pixel 6a
Android: 13

Update 1

Seems to happen with the FAB inbox button, but not the Bottom Nav one.

Update 2

Happens from the Drawer inbox button, too.

Is this happening to anybody else?

Is it just an image-size thing? I try to proofread and format, including images. Up until the preview of my most recent post, I had never seen an image in the preview.

Is this a me-thing? An image size thing? Something different that I hadn't thought of? I like it, whatever the reason.

This one works: This one doesn't:

Thanks for any insight!

~~Edit: My post title says community, message says content. I'll proofread better next time. 😅~~

I was looking for new communities, saw this, and (as requested) am showing the message to @ljdawson@Lemmy.world

!egg_irl@lemmy.blahaj.zone

Thanks! (Thought this seemed an appropriate method, but if there's a better way to let you know, I'm happy to do that instead)

These are screenshots of OpenBoard in Title bar, Gboard in Title bar, and OpenBoard in post text box

(I hope they show up properly - no pics in my preview)

For example, if I go down the list, visit 1, 2, 3, and 4, when I switch from 1 to 2, 1 is still highlighted. When I switch to 3, 2 is still highlighted. (Not a huge deal, but I love this app and want to give useful feedback and input)

Bottom nav seems to be keeping up and switching as normal. Is it just me? Am I being nit-picky?

Thanks for all your work!

Maybe something for the Pixel phones? I've been using ADW for a long time now, and was wondering what some frequently used launchers are. (I used Cyanogen for a long time, too.)

There are lists all over the internet, but I'm interested in what the Lemmy crowd likes. Thanks!

Edit: Thanks guys - a few of these were on my radar, some I hadn’t heard of or seen in the Play/f-droid lists. Having the reasons why you like each of them helps me figure out what I want from a launcher (for instance, the purchase of Nova by a company known for its data collection is a big turn-off even though it seems loved) - since you guys laid out some pros and cons of a bunch of launchers, it gives me a better picture!

Edit 2: You guys, this is a great resource for figuring out which launchers look like something worth trying (for me), and which ones are in the stores but not what I'm looking for. Without just trying them all, that is... And considering that I hadn't even heard of all of them...

This has been a huge help for me, and I hope some others out there got something out of the post! I should be replying to everyone, but I'm not ... Sorry. But I did read everything and have already started compiling a list in my head, and started tagging and categorizing. And those who included screen shots and links and lists and opinions and FOSS alternatives/forks - they helped! This whole thing helped!
