As we are already observing some of the catastrophic impacts of climate change, there is no change in greenhouse gas emissions. They are even increasing. At least Wile E. Coyote is intelligent enough to stop before catastrophe although we all know he is unable to avoid it. Why aren't we?

Some humanes definitely are. But many are suffering already. With the impending environmental catastrophe, I'd argue humanity as a whole will suffer from the unhealthy relationship between the fossil fuel lobby and politicians.

1.5°C is a symbolic boundary. It was agreed to not be broken in the Paris agreement in 2016. Not even ten years later, it is broken for the eigth consecutive month and in the yearly average. It will be broken permanently in 5-10 years. It is a symbolic boundary because it is an arbitrary number and every tenth of a degree matters. We still need to support climat action even if it is broken. But it is also a symbol of political incompetency and fossil fuel malice.

Environmental rights are already incorporated in the constitutions of many countries. Why are they not respected?

Maybe we should try to prevent the disaster we are causing instead of watching?

Plastics are not directly causing global warming. But they are a byproduct of the fossil fuel industry and are part of the environmental crisis we are causing.
