People are allowed to own pets without knowing anything at all about responsible pet ownership. It's ficked up.

There's less people living in poverty today than ever before. We all carry around super computers that connect us with our loved ones at all times and contain all of human knowledge. If you're over 5'8 and weigh more than 145 pounds then you're physically better off than the average US soldier during WW2. Diseases that used to kill millions every year are now close to eradication.

Don't mistake your increased awareness of global issues as things getting worse. This is the best time in human history to be alive. Anyone telling you different is looking at a very specific aspect of the past with rose tinted glasses.

If a democrat fucks up, that's big news because they're supposed to have their shit together and act in the best interest of all of us.

If a republican fucks up, that's expected. Any articles about that are like 'water is wet'. It's not informative because we all know, even the conservatives who vote for them, that they're in it for themselves and are out to get everyone else.

I'm a different person. I'm not pissed, I'm just making casual conversation.

Communism and capitalism as they were described in the literature both died in 93 and 08 respectively.

Just like the current capitalist system in the US cannot function without massive subsidies and bailouts, I'd imagine the current communist systems require private enterprises to keep parts of their system functioning.

Does the United States having food stamps and public education make it a socialist country?
