Its a product of global connectivity but lack of in person connection. If I interact with someone regularly and personally I am unlikely to wish harm on them because they are "part of my tribe." Via the internet and social media I dont really have a connection with this person, so its easy to think of them as an outsider or them. Once they are outside of my tribe I can remove their humanity and then their death has no moral or emotional cost to me.

I will second Mellow, the Ender 3 series is a great entry level printer for tinkerers and hobbits but it requires lots of upgrades and maintenance to turn into a quality fast printer if your goal is to work with the printed items and not the printer.

I like to tinker so that was fine with me, and when I got around to buying a big boy printer I got a Voron 350mm v2.4r2 because its a printer you build yourself. Going from an entry level printer to a $1200 printer is night and day. The features, functionality, quality, and for me most importantly the speed have been game changers.

Since you want to print Cosplay im going to assume you dont want to tinker constantly with the printer, and you dont want to be dealing with failed prints all the time.

If that is the case I would say spend what your time is really worth to you and for your hobby and get a higher end high quality printer. Enjoy the parts you print, not fighting with the printer.

My kids, who began using Linux at home and then Chrome OS since the ages of 5 ,would suggest that it's only older users who are completely stuck in their ways and can't adapt to different operating systems.

How dare you make such a direct and personal attack on me!

Second this, whatever you pick never let someone else "own" your data because then they own your company. If you cant export data freely so it can be imported into another system, then its not yours.

I would go farther and say read the books. The show is great, and the books are great too.

I think my favorite overclock was back in the early Conroe days when Intel first released the core m processor. I bought an Asus white book and after assembling everything and doing on a power-on test I immediately powered it off and did a pin modification to force the socket from 100 megahertz front side bus to 133 megahertz front side bus.

It was such a simple modification that netted me significant performance improvements and voided my warranty in the first 5 minutes.

Replacement tubes are only about $15 but why spend that when I can just print them!

Hey there fellow neck-beards and grey-beards!

I have a motherboard with USB3.1 and I need to down clock it so its always 5 Gbit/s and never faster.

Is there any way to do this, my DuckDuckGo Fu is not finding the right combination of words.

I use Arch BTW...

Just kidding im still running Manjaro.

Thanks.

For a while now I have been a Brother evangelist because they just worked, they did not lock you into first party only printing supplies, and they were overall a good value.

THEN: my printer firmware auto updated and suddenly my toner cartridges were no longer recognized. Its not that they ran out and I put in new ones, simply the ones that had previously worked (3rd party already) just stopped and it reported an error.

I managed to find a guide on downgrading the firmware, and now I am back up and running and auto update is turned off. I am also saving all the little chips from the Brother branded cartridges.

So Dear Brother Printers, Please choke on a bag of dicks. I spent $500ish on a laser color printer so I would not have to deal with the shitification that has happened to inkjet. Seeing hostile and profiteering consumer behavior from other printer companies you decided to copy them for short term gains.

Well I will no longer recommend your products, and I will go out of my way to fix and downgrade your older printers with the sole purposes of putting them back into use and costing you new sales.

1 down, 1 in the cue, feel free to stop being anti consumer and breaking hardware we already paid for.
