I'm fully convinced that their core architecture is a disaster, and the foundations of the app had to be fully redone for this and many other features that other apps have had for years.

WhatsApp takes so long to implement basic features that all of its competitors has that I'm convinced that its codebase is a horror show and breaks every convention there is, and every features requires a full rewrite of a core part of the service.

Obligatory mention of Baldurs Gate 3. Only about 4 hours in and loving it. When I'm not playing that I'm playing Cyberpunk. That's also good fun, but obviously not on the same level.
