Alexandrite is great. The only thing really keeping Alexandrite from a 10/10 for me is the inability to set the default comment sort to top, new, etc. It’s a minor gripe but having to change it myself every time is frustrating all the same.

No. I have no respect for the traitors who fought for the right to enslave human beings. Fuck all Confederates and fuck anyone demanding we respect the legacy of those fucking slavers and sing Kumbaya with their modern day bigoted counterparts.

“The British people are compassionate. We will always support those who are genuinely homeless. But we cannot allow our streets to be taken over by rows of tents occupied by people, many of them from abroad, living on the streets as a lifestyle choice."

"Oh you're homeless? Name the top three ways to cook beans over a hobo campfire so I know you're not a poser." - Suella Braverman

Yeah, I'm a browser nerd. I love seeing what's out there, testing different features, etc. So I'm usually jumping between two browsers in addition to my daily driver at any given time. I used Edge as a secondary browser for a few months when the MacOS beta became available and as far as performance is concerned it was a legitimately good browser. You're also right, it had some nice features of its own that made it worthwhile as a Chrome alternative (assuming the obvious privacy issues were not a concern for someone, it was at least a decent lateral option to consider.)

By the time I eventually got around to revisiting Edge recently I was disappointed to find they've made an absolute mess of it. It's the most bloated piece of crap on the market.

Yeah, Mastodon is much larger than Lemmy yet it feels like shouting into the void. I like it as a means to keep up on news by following journalists who've fled twitter but I've yet to get any real interaction on my posts. Meanwhile on Lemmy I'm never running out of things to read and people to discuss posts with.

Lol, right? Every time there's a new article about Tesla and their issues with weather it's like reading a page out of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

...And the Tesla said "Oooh dear this porridge is too hot! And this porridge is too cold!"

Who said anything about bad weather? Jeez, you can always count on muskrats to make the dumbest arguments based on ridiculous assumptions when Daddy Elon needs to be defended.

Yep, it's missing Mastodeck for web and Ice Cubes for iOS which are both quite popular. I'd understand it if the list were curated with a focus on lesser known apps and UIs but this looks like a random hodgepodge of selections. I bet that entire site is just a chatGPT generated info dump.

A Gargoyles reboot is officially on the way. Months after a report suggested Kenneth Branagh could be helming a live-action reboot of the cult classic animated series, a new trade report says a live-action series is, in fact, in development at Disney+. While it doesn't appear that Branagh is working on it, the series has a pair of monstrous names attached. Gary Dauberman has been hired to write, showrun, and executive produce the series alongside James Wan and his Atomic Monster banner.

“I went into one of the executive’s offices and I saw an ‘X3’ script, and I immediately knew it was a lot fatter,” Vaughn said. “I was like, ‘What the hell is this draft?’ He went, ‘Don’t worry about it,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no. I’m the director. I’m worrying about this draft.’ He wouldn’t tell me, so I grabbed it literally — it was like a crazy moment — opened the first page, and it said, ‘Africa. Storm. Kids dying of no water. She creates a thunderstorm and saves all these children.'”

Vaughn continued, “[I said] ‘What is this?’ [They said] ‘Oh, it’s Halle Berry’s script.’ I went, ‘OK, because she hasn’t signed up yet.’ ‘But this is what she wants it to be, and once she signs up, we’ll throw it in the bin.'”

While Vaughn said the idea of Storm going to Africa was a “pretty cool idea,” he did not stand by the tactic of misrepresenting the storyline to Berry.
