Whenever I'm in Munich, I see a lot of BMW test vehicles, with the new parts partially camouflaged. I never really liked them, but they're getting worse really rapidly now. Their new SUV looks like it's a cyberpunk parody of an overly aggressive car.

That just sounds like a list of things to say to have plausible deniability.

I played badminton with a friend and their girlfriend a few days ago. Guess in HK that'd pass as a euphemism.

Yeah, the thing is - I just don't get it. Like most people likely do, I have thought about what I'd do if I came into a large sum of money, maybe by selling a company, and honestly, the answer is, a relatively normal flat in the city I live in; some travel, but nothing 'luxury', just seeing places I find interesting; giving both to charities I find worthwhile, and my local community; and investing in a responsible way (fuck returns if you get them by investing in oil and weapons, one could argue that investor owned companies as such are a problem, but I'm probably not going to be able to solve that can of worms).

So the difference in my life would be having less financial stress, being able to give back more, and focusing more on family, friends, and hobbies, and I just couldn't imagine blowing through money like that man has.

It may be partially because I saw my father find incredible success, only to spend a lot of it on pointless luxuries before dying in incredible debt, but it also just feels like common sense.

It's been a while since I regularly used a car, but I remember the automatics my father had having some sort of logic that shifted up when driving at a constant speed, than back down when wanting to accelerate.

Now those where fancy pants Systems (I think they called them 7G-Tronic), but this was also over 10 years ago, and such logic doesn't strike me as overly complicated, so I'm surprised there's current cars with static shift speeds.

I get called like once or twice a week, and it's usually something time sensitive or important. Always found people just flat out refusing to answer the phone crazy.

If I remember correctly, the app was originally built by an Australian public broadcaster and then sold to WordPress Matt, so yeah.

Oh, yeah, wait, I am using AntennaPod too. The subscription stuff was actually the reason I switched from Pocket Casts. Mixed up the names. I'd claim old age, but I'm not that old yet, really.

Many modern podcast solutions seem to be injecting ads into the audio file they serve, to varying degrees of success.

I listen to several ad supported English language podcasts, and most of them seem to have difficulties with ~~Pocket Casts~~ AntennaPod, or some other part of my setup. The only ones that do get ads placed are the ones that use Spotify Megaphone for their backend.

There is a paid version of pocket casts?

YT App patched with revanced still works for me, and the app uses less battery for me than the browser version. Privacy wise, the browser is presumably better, though.

My home page looks the same either way, though.
