Perform better is pretty relative. My Pi 4 running home assistant is super responsive, while also using little power and being completely silent, but it only runs a network of zigbee lights and sensors, controlled by zigbee switches.

I agree that more power is necessary for any local voice applications, but depending on the use case, the pi probably isn't worse than the alternatives.

Baldur's Gate 3. Before that, I dunno. Outer Worlds, I guess.

I'm gonna keep not buying Teslas all year.

If you really want to use gpt-4 for a cover letter (don't think it'll help that much, but I won't judge), just get yourself an API Key and use the API with a local frontend. The requests you need for a cover letter will likely amount to a few cents.

I get the whole pirate spirit thing, but this all seems wonky at best. If you want fully free gpt-4, there's always Bing Chat.

Huh. I gotta admit that I never tried using it, but that does suck.

Is that necessarily bad, though? I always felt that the infrastructure around snap, and not the underlying technology, was what people had problems with.

Also, this feels like an appropriate time to shill for Aegis instead of Authy. Or any foss 2FA solution, really.

I mean, it's Forbes. They probably assume you lease your appliances and have them replaced with the hot new model every 12 Months, or some shit.

Piracy is gonna get more interesting.

Cracked, removed AI Server lock, bring your own API key, or host model of choice locally.

Known Issues: If you use the OpenAI API, the NPCs will sometimes tell you that killing is against the ethics policy while shooting at you.

If you really want that for some reason, that sounds like a job for one AI Smart Assistant. Doing it by having a different App and LLM implementation for every appliance seems stupid in so many ways.

Especially if they don't run them local, but essentially bundle the completely different service of a cloud hosted LLM with a fucking Tumble Dryer.

That seems bound to loose them money if they don't charge a subscription.

As has been stated already, past prohibitions didn't really work out that well.

I'd also add that 'mind-altering substances' is casting a really wide net, and could be argued to include stuff like caffeine.

I personally like Portugals approach of decriminalisation, because I think criminalising these substances usually hurts people addicted to them most, while helping those wanting to profit of addiction.

I don't smoke pot, I don't like the smell, I had edibles like twice in my life, and don't plan on repeating the experience.

I still think that there is little logical reason to forbid people from consuming, and that it is especially hypocritical to do so while alcohol and tobacco are legal, and freely available.
