It is a nice perspective, thanks for sharing it!:-)

Whoosh moment... but I see what you did there - and I for one, like it!:-P

Though tbf, I must be insane, b/c I legit just watch the ads. Okay so not watch watch them, or listen either tbh, but let them play out I mean... I watch fewer than one YT video per day, most often per week even, or sometimes per month, so that is just easier for me than anything else, and it feels good to know that I am supporting the content creators that way, which iirc YT does at least a halfway decent job of? (or I could be misremembering that, but I thought like not the best yet not the worst either, more solidly in the middle, median-wise if not average?) Like, it is literally the least I can offer:-D.

Unless I want to listen to music, in which case I just turn on blocking of the ads - I guess I am not all that perfect (or bat-shit insane - ain't nobody got time for dat!):-P.

That saying was not meant to be interpreted as literally true - it was designed to extract more money from customers who would generate repeat business = moar profits.

Why does that look like the longest handgun I have ever seen in my life? :-P

Plus isn't there a link to donate to the original developers on all Lemmy instances? The "Support Lemmy" one I mean, unless an admin has modified the source code to remove that I suppose, and continue to do so each time they receive an update. That seems to bother many people as well, even being on a different instance that the original creators do not administer personally.

Tbf, it is a bit difficult for the average person to wrap their head around.

For instance, did you know that water can come in multiple forms!? Woah... :-P

Lately people are saying that 98% of chat responses to simple math problems like 1+1=? are now coming up wrong.

Then again, there are some people who cannot seem to be able to do this either - like those models are not training themselves! :-P (probably people are sabotaging them even, like replacing Reddit comments with gibberish)

But at the end of the day, does it matter? Whichever one provides more helpful answers, I'd say go with them:-D.

For one thing, stop using debit cards on the internet. Credit cards do not take the money out of your account first, thus offering you an additional layer of protection, and many like Discover in the USA are known for offering $0 liability for unauthorized purchases. They can be more of a hassle to use like they may call your mobile number to check on a suspicious purchase, but at this point it seems you want that level of paranoia. Don't miss a rent (or any important) payment bc you have nothing left in your debit account to work with! (Even if it is added back quickly, will it be handled quickly enough?)

Step 1: brace yourself, go get your puke bucket.

Step 2: (wait, are you sure that you have your puke bucket handy? warning, there are PICTURES in this thing!) Now, read this.

Step 3: go clean your puke bucket. You are welcome.

Warning: those who may be offended by seeing a picture of the Zuck and the Musk - combined with NO MENTION WHATSOEVER OF LEMMY (or Beehaw, or Kbin, etc.) on an article ostensibly explaining "the fediverse", may be advised to not read this little gem.

Edit: but it is CBC News, which iirc is mainstream?
