oh I know. I just don't want nintendo to get their paws on it again.

chrono trigger was a game developed by a fantastic supergroup of talented individuals. it's still my favorite rpg all these years later because of that effort and skill.

just... please don't put it on switch. please.

I'd like nintendo to not have a single scrap to do with it.

amazing. the very first line told me everything I need to know about what kind of person you really are.

"those trans people don't act the same way as me, so they're obviously wrong."

grow up, man. not everyone is going to agree with your weird victim-obsessed ideals.

in my friend groups, quite a few people are binging hogwarts legacy at the moment.

most of them are trans. nobody is outraged. they just have jk blocked on twitter. they're still potter fans.

there's an obsessive hate in a lot of trans communities that nobody talks about. the "you like this book series so you're a terf!" type mentality is really tiresome.

right? there's more outrage than is really worth it. just don't participate in it if you don't like it. instance blocking is a thing now on lemmy I'm fairly sure.

mine as well. I had a gba sp that I used until the plastic showed under the paint from wear and the hinge no longer clicked.

loved that console.

the article lists a source. Game Watch. Translated from Japanese to English.

"Cumulative domestic sales of Nintendo's game console "Nintendo Switch" series exceeded 33.34 million units. It exceeded the record for the Nintendo DS series of 32.99 million units, making it the best-selling game console in history in Japan."

This is much easier if you read the article and check the sources yourself.

what "bad guys"? Whatever the server owner feels is appropriate for levels of validation is up to them. ya know?

[-] Nima@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago

on quite a number of servers that are 18+, higher verification usually sounds a little bit more safe. But then on most of the servers I run or moderate, we tend to have our own in-house verification methods instead of the built levels for discord.

the idea of the verification levels is attractive, however. anything to keep the kids out. though I'm not sure I'd go as far as requiring a phone number, I might consider it for future.

it depends on how the server is going to be used. why a gaming server should be highest level, I don't know. I would think "high" is enough.

in my experience, you can get pretty smooth gameplay at the cost of graphics, or pretty decent graphics at the cost of smoothness and fps.

I have mine set to pretty ok-ish settings for both. but then I tend to swap between handheld and docked for most games. so I'm kinda used to the graphics by now.

hope you find a setup you like <3

I know it's not the point of the article, but the humor all through made this a much more enjoyable read. ☺️

holy shit that's absolutely insane. easier to use an ad riddled pirate site instead. at least it will have a full catalog most times, and you can just block ads.
