Thankfully not and the party that wanted to is the blue one that lost massively in July.

How the Swedish parliament would look is how the current British government does look. For exactly this reason.

Why do screens need to fold at all? In folded mode an edge to edge screen is enough and in unfolded mode two more of those can combine to make one large display. It's the same as those led walls you see in places, made of edgeless panels that slot in next to each other. Curving the pixels is stupid.

They don't give a shit anymore. The business customers are paying for 365 and the gamers are paying for gamepass. Those are the money makers now. If you want you can run windows, but if you're still running windows apps (including 365) then Microsoft still gets paid.

Reddit federation would not happen before Steve Huffman's exit from the company, and given that he is solely responsible for the changes that made Reddit unusable to many, I'd actually encourage federation given that after that happened, Reddit would become just another instance with no API control or ability to affect the goings on of any other part of the ecosystem of apps, servers, communities or even the Lemmy codebase.

It's pretty obvious why those ones sink.

Idea: if you mod a community on a lemmy.somewhere you should be able to migrate it to lemmy.elsewhere which would include all post & comment links being forwarded and subbed users having their subscription updated to reflect the new location.

I'm aware this would be a way down the road as user account migration alone is still not great but it would be a great feature for the fediverse to have to avoid centralisation and mod/server admin wars.
