They're using a trusted formula that has worked since Far Cry 3 from 12 years ago. It's fun but it's not going to turn a lot of heads. Many just wish they would try something different.

Steam has an effective monopoly on open, marketplace-style launchers. EGS is their only real competitor and everyone hates it. GOG is years behind the curve and Amazon's launcher barely exists. At this point in time, Steam is hardly considered third-party since it's so ubiquitous.

I would murder my whole family for a $5 sandwich meal deal in the states. Even fast food by my work is double that, and you're still only getting America-quality food packed with sugars and preservatives.

My experience playing it so far has been pretty overwhelmingly positive. No one really cares who wins, it's more fun to just make cool plays and do well individually.

Start organized movements to heavily push for ranked choice voting. If it becomes a national movement then maybe we'll first start seeing it locally, then on a larger scale.

Valve has the resources and incentive to take years and years making something fun with no worry about profitability. Steam is their product, the games Valve releases on Steam are just reasons to spend money on their platform.

I absolutely loved my visit to Mammoth and am planning on returning some day. They have a few different tours and I want to try some of the more challenging ones that take longer.

As a Neon user I resent the implication but also understand that it is mostly true

Didn't even think about that because I live in America and mostly tour around rural areas with no public transportation lol

Been doing that, unfortunately I live in a big city so it's a bit of an infinite treadmill. I like to just mark parking lots since no one seems to do those ever and they're changing pretty frequently.

Thinking about this because of a greentext I saw earlier complaining about OF models.

It feels like a lot of the stigma surrounding sex work in the modern day (that doesn't just boil down to misogyny/gender norms/religion) is based on the fact that selling intimate aspects of one's self places a set value on something that many see as sacred; something that shouldn't have monetary value.

Not to say anything about the economic validity of a society without currency, but I think that, hypothetically, if that were to exist, sex work would be less stigmatized since this would no longer be a factor. Those engaged in sex work would be more likely to be seen as doing it because it's something they are good at/enjoy, and less because it's an "easy" way to make money, as some think. It would also eliminate the fear of placing set value on social, non sex-work related intimacy (not that those fears were well-founded to begin with).
