Reading this almost makes me wish I was a drunk and I could quit now. But I hate sleeping drunk way to much to ever get to that point in the first place.

But NVidia isn’t a barrier for wayland anymore.

I disagree. When I used it recently it was still very much subpar compared to the AMD experience. It's usable, but not to the point that I would like to use it.

I so hope the EU won't put up with any of this garbage. Let's fix the law if it got holes, at this point I just want to spite apple.

No. Ghostery sold out years ago. Also uBlockOrigin can do the same, but apparently no one knows that you easily subscribe to additional block lists (one of them just for cookie banners).

I'd honestly prefer this than to what Netflix does: Don't warn you at all but then limit you to 480p or whatever. Now THAT is some bullshit. But hey, at least this way no one will ever be able to pirate 4k shows off Netflix, right? RIGHT?

You think Microsoft is at fault for Starfield being mediocre? Okay

[-] Holzkohlen@feddit.de 25 points 8 months ago

Haha, they won't even allow me to watch stuff on Netflix in 1080p because I use linux. Eat shit

MacOS is not in scope for example, despite iOS being scoped in.

But is MacOS as much of a walled garden than iOS? Not in the slightest, right? I'm fairly certain you can install random software on MacOS can't you?

You can just get an AMD APU and run your PC in hybrid mode. I did that Garuda Linux recently and it was great. Allowed me to finally switch to using Wayland.

If a game comes with FSR out of the box use that tho. It will not scale stuff like the UI for instance, so you get the UI at native resolution, but the game is getting upscaled. If you use Gamescope for scaling it will scale the whole image and it's limited to FSR1 while games can come with FSR2 or even 3 (I think 3 is just added frame generation on top which is only useful for playing at >60fps).

It's running Ubuntu!

Aw hell no! They better allow me install a different distro right away!
