There's no place in reality that I can feel safe or comfortable. Anywhere that there is any chance of a human being perceiving me or me perceiving another human being is not a place that I can feel comfortable in. The only refuge that I can find is in books and video games.

In roguelites with stat progression, there's often little need to actually improve at the game. It's just mindless grinding until your stats are high enough.

Enter the Gungeon does it best IMO. New weapons and items get added to the loot table, but you never unlock anything that just straight up makes you stronger.

That would add a ludicrous amount of cost to the device in both material cost and R&D. It's so incredibly unlikely that any company would make that investment just to spy on the conversations of ordinary citizens when there are far cheaper and easier ways for them to build and sell advertising profiles.

Just finished Sea of Stars. Really a beautiful classic style RPG. If you have any fond memories of games like Golden Sun, Chrono Trigger, or Breath of Fire, then it's definitely a game for you.
