Ya basically the one that works on the most sites while also not being a PITA.

Being older than the internet and having used mosaic, Netscape navigator, IE, Firefox, Chrome, several short lived mobile browsers and tried Opera a few times. Can’t say I have a favourite as any browser I like that becomes popular also tends to become bloated and slow over time.

The ones I need, otherwise I always prefer core HA elements if possible.

With recently UI improvements in HA I have actually removed several HACS

I think it has been probably more than 5 years since I have seen an optical drive on a new laptop.

It is expected, it is already in the betas but may also require carriers to enable it as some beta testers found it wasn’t available to them initially.

With a 5 year support cycle on iOS devices getting OS updates, ALL of the iPhones going back to 2019 (when it was added to android) will likely support RCS

[-] AlternateRoute@lemmy.ca 31 points 1 week ago

To be far, apple has had iMessage since 2011 and no one cared about RCS until it was adopted on Android in 2019.

The next version of iOS should add support for RCS which should allow for cross platform larger images as well.

1 million dollars doesn't go that far these days, at the world scale it is almost nothing.

You could however make a lasting difference in your community by making a scholarship, building needed facilities, or doing something else where you directly make sure the funds go where needed and can't be used for other uses. Lets face it, if you give it to some charities 90% of it will just go to the administration.

Other than the basics NO.

The exception would be if you are into a lot of outdoor adventure / climbing / mountain biking / hiking where it will just be the two of you on an adventure. Then it is critical.

If most of your life is in a uban setting it isn't a common or critical skill I would expect.

Blower fans had a technical reason to exist that isn’t very relevant anymore.

It used to be to keep the card profile low so you could have other PCI card slots populated. However these days everything including Wifi can be found pre populated on the motherboard. It is rare you put in any additional PCI cards in modern personal systems.

Ya acrylic side cases where a trend, maybe 3D monitors but everything else in there was just specific technology that has been replaced by better technology..

Reading through the comments on the video, the only "used to be" part the video creator is talking about is that it is a alien hobby OS that hardly anyone uses or knows about. Don't take that as a negative but he is just talking about the feels. Other than that technically their isn't a lot in common with Linux from the past.

There are several common words and terms I would like to stop seeing posts about but only in specific communities. Having the words or terms blocked in other communities or global matches too many things.

It would also be nice for the filter to be Title, URL or body specific.
