Nepalese mercenaries in the service of the empire. According to Russian soldiers, they were simply left there to hold positions, without even being told which side the enemy was on. One of the occupiers explains: they say, don’t shoot to the south, but shoot to the north, it’s Ukraine. A good illustration of what mass is - at all times, officers have always needed light infantry to occupy areas and fill the space with manpower. Even without knowing the language, such a squad of soldiers simply holds the area, acting as a living signal.

It's interesting to look at the gear they're using.

The commander looks to be in warmer equipment with body armor while the mercenaries are in camo windbreaker looking things. But the commander also looks to be wearing some kind of street shoe instead of the boots you might expect to see with his armor...

I wonder, is that his choice to wear comfortable footwear over protective footwear, an equipment supply problem, or something else entirely?
