I am also part of the Top 6hr gang. There are dozens of us! :)

Same, I check in the morning before I drag myself out of bed and then once I get home from work to see if anything happened during the day.

I really never thought I would want it, but I wouldn't hate a top 3 hours... I get on Lemmy more than once every six hours

I want Most commented 6 hours

[-] Dave@lemmy.nz 14 points 1 year ago

Top hour here too. Sometimes top 12 hours in the morning. Top day is too stale.

The problem with this is the smaller communities are completely drowned out by larger ones with top/x. Same with hot, to be honest. The algorithm needs to be updated to float smaller communities posts to the top proportionally somehow.

[-] June@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Yea, smaller communities are something I really want to see more of but don’t seem to have a reasonable way to get them in my feed. Obviously I can subscribe but I need to know they exist before I can do that.

Top/day also sucks because when I go into a community I have to resort if it’s smaller and doesn’t have high volume. Then if I don’t remember to set my sort back to top/day when I go back to my main feed it resets the feed.

At least until you make it all the way down into the single digits...

We are the true pioneers. Braving the horrors of quadruple reposts to multiple instances and ad spam before it gets removed so the hot users may blissfully upvote /risa memes

I don’t use the word ‘hero’ often but you sir, are a true hero.

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Those aren't the horrors that I fear when thinking of browsing new posts on Lemmy lately.

Luckily I didn’t run into anything illegal so far, but I’m always trying to report ads or other inappropriate posts.

I'm more of a sort by caliente man myself.

[-] Custoslibera@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

The existence of a caliente filter supposes that a muy caliente filter exists.

I don’t think I could handle those posts.

Does anyone else remember reddit's Knights of New? I'm just doing my part.

If you sort by top day then what do you do the rest of the day?

[-] can@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

Top 6 hour, top 1 hour, new

[-] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago
