I had the same issue until I discovered ReVanced. It's literally the same old app but updated. I also have newpipe which I typically use for specific things.. Or if I don't want to receive video recommendations for a certain video
I tried revanced but it always fails when trying to patch the apk. I couldn't figure it out.
This isn't me trying to sound like a dick. But did you enable the option for it to rename itself? I can't remember where it is, but it's something along those lines.
Yep, same here. IIRC it fails because it's expecting me to enter a custom package name, but then there's no field at all to enter a package name. I've gone thru the settings multiple times and couldn't find that option so I too gave up.
Anyways, NewPipe works well enough for me, and if there's some issue I could always load it in a browser.
Am using it without root on my phone at the moment. Perhaps it's a bug with the patcher
