How I found out the first episode was out was from the YouTube algorithm recommending me ClariS's ED for the show, Andante.

The algorithm knows me disturbingly well.

As an enjoyer of the original anime, which led to me getting the novels, and then subsequent purchases of some of the other works of Hasekura Isuna, I am delighted that we are revisiting this universe, and hopefully, finish the adaptation this round.

I like the changes made. I felt some of the early details in the novels were sufficiently fleshed out more. More importantly, I am happy with the reunification of Koshimizu Ami and Fukuyama Jun.

I was so excited to see a new official cover of my favourite piece from Cowboy Bebop on Yoko Kanno's channel. I had the original on endless replay when I finally got the audio file as a teen weeb, back when we cherished our music files because it was so hard to get.

If you aren't aware, the Ghost Stories English Dub is one of the most insane dubs ever made. It's incredibly offensive and racist and bat shit insane at times and it's probably one of the funniest things I've ever watched. Scamboli Reviews has a great summary video about it. If you have time, it's worth watching this anime at least once in your life.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but grimjack the anime abridged channel seems to have been hacked.

I've been working on a new anime recommendation algorithm the past 4 months and now I pretty much have the algorithm done.

To test the accuracy of the algorithm, I am requesting any MyAnimeList user to post their MyAnimeList username along with their overall top 3 genres in descending order. This will then be compared to what the algorithm guessed.

What happened to Monica Rial? She voiced Tomoe for all of the first season and the first six episodes of this season but episode 7 was someone completely different. Did she get sick or did something else happen? (Save past commentary I’m just curious in the current context)

I Messed Up and Watched the AoT Summary Movies (Only the 1st Three) and Regretted it, What Scenes Were Cut Out from These Movies?

Context: I've watched up to the end of s3 and wanted to rewatch it just to refresh my memory before I start watching s4 til the end.

I thought it would be a great idea to just watch the summary movies since I've watched the 1st three seasons before.

After watching the 3rd summary movie though (that tackles the 1st half of s2), I realized how much stuff were taken out and the experience went wrong.

Now I plan to just watch the series again. But I wanted to know which scenes were taken out of these 3 summary movies so that I at least remember what I missed.

I just saw that for Spring they're doing a new Spice and Wolf, but it looks like they're not continuing the story but re-making what already had a pretty good IMO anime with 2 seasons. IIRC That anime was also pretty close to the source material, so I can't really see what us watchers will get from a remake other than I guess maybe more modern animation? Which is also kind of a waste cause there's a lot more light novels to adapt IMO.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is making waves with its surge in popularity and success, but its impact in anime expands well beyond that. Women and girls in shounen have been written notoriously bad for so long, so for Frieren to come in and smash all other competition (shounen and non-shounen) is pretty notable. Will we learn anything from Frieren's success? Perhaps the biggest takeaway is that well-written, multifaceted female protagonists in shounen are extremely profitable! Let me know your thoughts about Frieren and women in shounen in the comments.

Hopefully JC Staff can up their game, and they are given some more time to work.
